Josh Boyd has been playing guitar since he was five years old. Over the years since he has developed into a recognized talent on guitar as well as vocally. Though influenced by many including Johnny ‘Guitar’ Watson, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Albert Collins, Josh has forged a sound that is now his own. Josh Boyd and the VIP Band have been tempered by innumerable stage performances including Chicago’s famous Kingston Mines and Buddy Guy’s Legends. Their stage presence is intense and dramatic yet always led by the compelling sound of their music. Funk, Soul, Rock, R&B and Blues are fused by solid bass, pulsing drums and searing guitar into a highly reactive sound. This outfit has two studio releases, “I Only Talk to Angels” which samples the diversity of the group’s band members and features blues, ballads, and funk driven dance tunes.
